Students in Grades 5 to 10 can now join the Greenfield Robotics Club, meeting twice a week to build, code, and test robots in our upgraded lab.
This term, Greenfield launched its new Robotics Club for students in Grades 5 to 10. The club meets every Tuesday and Thursday after school in the computer and robotics lab, which has recently been upgraded with new microcontroller kits, sensors, motors, and a 3D printer. More than 60 students signed up in the first week alone.
Led by Computer Science teacher Mr. Bilal Ahmed, club members work in small teams to design and program robots that can follow lines, avoid obstacles, and complete simple tasks. Younger students start with block-based coding, while senior students move on to Python and Arduino programming. The aim is to build problem-solving skills, teamwork, and confidence with technology through hands-on projects.
Club members will showcase their work at the Annual Science Fair and are preparing to take part in inter-school robotics competitions later in the year. Parents interested in the club can speak to their child's class teacher or contact the school office. Places are allocated on a first-come basis, with a waiting list for the next intake.
